1: MAC Cosmetics NYFW FaceCharts

NYFW may be over, but it's still fashion month, with the show wrapping up in London and continuing onto Milan and Paris. I had the pleasure of attending a few fashion show for MAC Cosmetics, covering backstage beauty and can't wait to share my backstage bliss with you: first looks and fun moments. I'll start with day-by-day MAC face charts:

MAC lead make-up artist: Gordon Espinet - Look: "Clean and Sporty"
  • MAC Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation (available autumn/winter 2015) lightly blended over the face, to even and tone for a flawless, yet natural look.
  • Mineralize concealer appled as needed to perfect.
  • Peach Fuzz Powder Blush (available autumn/winter 2015) blended over the apples of cheeks for a healthy flush.

  • Lashes were curled and a thin layer of Haute & Naughty Black Lash was applied to lightly define.
  • Black Pro Longwear Liquid Liner Pen (available autumn/winter 2015) applied in a thin layer.
  • Brows were brushed upwards and lightly shaded as needed.

  • Before Dawn, Vestral White and Quiet Time MAC Studio Nail Lacquers mixed together to create a Khaki, grey-green base colour on nails.
  • Layers of Gouache Paint were applied with a fan brush, toothpicks, mascara wands and straws.
  • Sparkledust Studio Nail Lacquer applied with a dry-brush technique.
  • Nocturnelle Studio Nail Lacquer and Vestral White Nail Lacquer applied with a "Spun Sugar" effect in mind, to create texture and dimension over nails.

MAC lead make-up artist KABUKI: "It is a nod to the 60's girl and was inspired by the textures and lines of the collection."

  • Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation chosen in a slightly brighter shade and softly brushed onto the skin with the 217 Blending Brush and diffused with a MAC Pro Performance Sponge.
  • Prep+Prime Bright Forecast Highlighter applied under the eye and over the orbital bone with a brush to create a perfecting wash of color around the eye.
  • MAC Pro Black Black and Pure White Chromacakes mixed together for a custom grey and applied through the lower line of the eyebrow, with the 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush.
  • Quite Natural Pro Longwear Paint Pot applied as a liner to the outside of the lower lash line with the 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush.
  • Caviar Beads were glued over the liner for added dimension to finish.
LIPS: Face and Body Foundation pressed onto the lips for a subtle nude.

  • Face and Body Foundation gently pressed into the skin using the palms of hands and buffed out with the 132 Duo Fibre Foundation Brush to even and tone with a natural finish.
  • MAC Studio Conceal and Correct Duo Custom Blended Under Eyes to Perfect.
  • Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Power swept around the nose to polish the skin and eliminate shine.

  • Lashes were curled and lightly coated with the natural wand of Haute & Naughty Brown Lash, to lightly define.
  • Duo Adhesive was drawn over the upper lash line with the 242 Shader Brush to mimic an application of eyeliner.
  • MAC Pro Gold Glitter applied with a clean 242 Shader Brush and adhered to the Duo Adhesive to create a glittery gold liner for eyes, gently repeated to build intensity, while keeping the edges clean and sharp.
  • Clear Brow Set brushed upwards through the brows, to groom and perfect.

  • Sweet Persuasion Huggable Glass (available autumn/winter 2015) softly applied to lips, for a natural pout to finish.
