FIRST-EVER SCENT INSPIRED PERFORMANCE
WITH GLADE AND CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
#FeelGlade
A couple of weeks ago, Glade announced a year-long partnership with Cirque du Soleil to demonstrate that scent can inspire emotion, arouse the senses, and spark the imagination through artistry. I am a true candle lover and my all-time favorite candle is Glade's Angel Whispers, so I made it my mission to attend this event at Madison Square Park, despite the heavy rain that day. Reps were the best, handing each of us clear, bubble umbrellas so we could stay dry and enjoy the show. Madison Square Park was instantly transformed into a dreamland; an experience completely inspired by Glade fragrances.

Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs, Communications and Sustainability for SC Johnson Kelly M. Semrau said "Cirque du Soleil is one of the most innovative brands in the world - they are a great partner to bring-to-life the power of Glade® scents as a driver to emotion and creative expression. We look forward to the year ahead and Glade® playing the part of catalyst to Cirque du Soleil's special performance!"
I received my favorite Glade Candles "Angel Whispers" prior to the event... |
but I also took home Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Pie and Cashmere Woods.. |
....and these babies arrived after this article went live! Same ones given out at the event. |
It wasn't until we saw the performance, that we understood the amazing concept which was brought to life with the power of Glade's scents and Cirque du Soleil's creative expression. Each artistic expression shifted, not to the beat of music, but rather each scent. Cirque du Soleil's Corporate Alliance Senior Director said: "What we've developed for Glade is unlike anything we've ever done before. Fragrance has the power to elicit a specific feeling or emotion, or in our case, inspire us to imagine a new one."

After the event I wandered around the park, as I waited for my car to pick me up and take me home. Since they wanted us to "Feel Glade" I made sure to do just that: grabbing hold of one the giant Glade balloons before they were deflated and having a blast. Too bad it didn't fit in the car!
