Famed celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann, was proud to be a part of the preparations for the 87th Annual Academy Awards. This season she worked with red carpet muse, Lupita Nyong’o, screen siren, Dakota Johnson and recording artist, Common.

Lupita has been a vision on the Red Carpet since her debut last year at the Golden Globes, tonight is no different as she presents at the 87th Annual Academy Awards. 

“Centering around her custom Calvin Klein gown created by Francisco Costa, Diamonds and Pearls were the anthem for Lupita’s look tonight. To complement this show stopping dress, a sheer, pearly champagne topped the nails. TO CREATE LUPITA’S NAIL LOOK:

1. Deborah first filed and shaped the nails to an almond point.
2. Next, she cleansed the cuticle and hydrated the nails, cuticles, and hands.
3. She then applied a base layer to correct and conceal imperfections, brighten, prime and fill ridges for a smooth matte flawless finish before lacquer application.
4. Deborah applied two coats of a sheer pearly champagne nail lacquer.
5. Using a high-gloss top coat and dotting tool, Deborah liberally applied Swarovski crystals to the underside of the nails.
6. She finished the look with a high-gloss top coat.

Dakota Johnson recently stole headlines with her leading role in Fifty Shades of Grey. Tonight she is working the red carpet alongside her mother, Melanie Griffith, and will be presenting at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

COMMON

Common is an American hip-hop recording artist, actor and entrepreneur. He has been deeply rooted in the music scene since his debut album in 1992. The worldwide artist will be performing with fellow musician and collaborator, John Legend, for “Glory” from Oscar nominated film, Selma. 

Aside from hair, facial hair, and dare we say – makeup – today’s men need to make sure their hands are in their best shape to accept their coveted awards in style. Deborah worked with Common to give him a perfectly buffed manicure.
