NYFW: La Prairie at Tracy Reese Fall 2015

La Prairie is my absolute skin obsession, so when I learned that they would make their NYFW debut at the Tracy Reese fall 2015 show with celeb makeup artist Sir John (love his work with Beyonce), I could not wait to see what backstage beauty look they would come up with. The look was all about radiant skin, sculpted cheeks, graphic eye liner and a healthy nude lip. “The focus for me was always the skin; using skincare with makeup to reflect and absorb light within, and around the face. We ushered in a sense of architectural structure by sculpting cheekbones and temples. The eyes were the vehicle to delivering a sense of motion. We wanted to make a linear statement with colour, translating in levels of bold and graphic liner.”– Makeup Artist, Sir John on creating the look with La Prairie for Tracy Reese Fall 2015

Makeup Artist, Sir John explains how to get the look with La Prairie:

SKIN: radiant, lit-from-within

Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion ($165) helps prep skin by retaining moisture while soothing and refreshing skin.

Cellular Radiance Cream ($630) leaves skin looking luminous and lit-from-within. Fresh, hydrated skin that reflects light was the focus.

Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream ($225) applied under the eye to brighten and help prevent makeup from caking.

FACE: luminous

Skin Caviar Concealer • Foundation SPF 15 ($200) applied to face and neck to even out skin tone only where needed. Creates flawless coverage with a soft dewy finish.

Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing • Brightening Eye Treatment ($75) used to highlight areas of the face where sun would naturally illuminate; under tear ducts, above the cheekbones, sides of nose, and high planes of the brow bone. Tip: blend well.

CHEEKS: sculpted

Cellular Treatment Bronzing Powder ($60) and Cellular Treatment Eye Colour ($45) in Topaz, applied to the cheekbones to accentuate and sculpt. Also used to create definition on the temples.

EYES: strong, colourful & graphic

Luxe Eye Liner Automatique ($50) in Brun or Noir – was used to line the entire inner rim of the eye as well as the upper lash line to create a mesmeric visual statement.

Luxe Eye Liner Automatique, Luxe Lip Liner Automatique ($50) and Cellular Treatment Eye Colour Ensemble ($70) colours were crushed and blended first to create a creamy texture. They were then applied using a fan brush; pre-cut to create levels of vivid graphic liner.

Cellular Treatment Mascara Instant Build ($40) apply 3-4 coats of mascara on the upper lashes.

LIPS: fresh, healthy, nude

Anti-Aging Eye and Lip Perfection à Porter ($150) used to plump the lips and keep them hydrated.

Cellular Luxe Lip Enhancer ($50) apply Anti-Aging Eye and Lip Perfection à Porter and using fingertip, blend in the Lip Enhancer to create a healthy nude lip.
