I'm gonna keep 'em coming, more NYFW backstage moments with yours truly. Why? Well for starters, I had tons of invites and each invite was separate and I believe deserves the respect of its very own review. Besides, it gives me a chance to showcase all my fab pics, lol! For Trina Turk & Mr. Turk Fall/Winter 2014, the fashion inspiration was "take a drive on Sunset Blvd through LA from Silverlake to the sea." The multicultural vibe of Los Angeles in jacquards, napped coats, printed failles , finewale corduroy and sweater stitches. Also, you'll see Trina Turk bags (stunning) and Mr. Turk traditional menswear patterns in fresh colorations.

*HAIR*
Hair: Cutler/Redken Salon Lead Hair Stylist: Martin Christopher Harper

Inspiration: “Just as cool as their clothes and as savvy as their textiles, the hair at Trina Turk embodies a carefree, whimsical look with a malleable texture, slightly twisted and pinned in the back with great volume at the crown. It's about the ease of Southern California coupled with a savvy sophisticated feel.” ~Martin Christopher Harper

Products Used:
Step-by-Step:

1. Start by establishing a center part and apply Redken Full Frame 07 & Redken Nature’s Rescue Radiant Sea Spray evenly through hair.

2. Use Boar-Bristle Brush to achieve a voluminous airy blow out, elevating each section away from scalp. Allowing hair to rest and cool on the brush so you achieve a soft wave.

3. Encourage texture and waves with Ceramic Iron – don’t try to curl the hair, you want to use the iron to merely wrap the hair around the barrel.

4. Lightly spray Redken 23 over the hair, then use Redken Powder Refresh 01 through the roots and manipulate with hand to break down the texture, making it feel soft.

5. Apply small amount of the Redken Powder Grip 03 to the crown - lightly back comb or manipulate with the hand to achieve more volume. This look is about the combination of volume and texture. Think cool California surfer.

6. Once you have your perfect texture and volume, tuck behind the ears and add couple of pins to adhere the style so it appears as if it were back in a loose pony tail. Cool, effortless, healthy hair.

7. To add refinement, use a tiny bit of the Redken ShineFlash 02 in the part for more brilliance... finish by lightly dusting hair with the Redken 23 to set.

*NAILS*
My good friends at JULEP nailed it and handled the nails for Trina Turk! To compliment the joyful hues for the 2014 fall season, indulgent creme colors reminiscent of happy school days and walks in the park were on display. My very own polish namesake "Evelyn" made the cut! Here are the 4 nail colors used: Annemarie (a warm cocoa creme), Rooney (a walnut bark creme), Donna (smokey, peacock blue creme) and Evelyn (magenta purple creme.)

Julep also used the following tools show above: Ta-Da! Quick Dry Drops ($14), Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum ($28), Well-Manicured Kit ($40) and Freedom Polymer Top Coat ($18)
Model rocking Jullep's "Rooney" on her nails

I got a sneak-peek at the latest innovation launching by Julep in May: JULEP PLIE WAND ($25) a do-it-yourself, ergonomically polish wand that allows you better control and accuracy, with either your dominant or non-dominant hand while doing your manicure. STAY TUNED..

Before leaving Trina's NYFW show, I run into the fab Jeannie Mae: makeup artist, fashion expert, actress, and TV personality. You may remember Jeannie for her work as the host of the Style Network series "How Do I Look?" and the upcoming Talk Show "The Real" with Loni Anderson, Tamar Braxton and Tamera-Mowry Housley. I cannot wait for the show to come back, after a very successful pilot run last summer.
