NYFW RECAP 2 "Get the Looks": Delpozo & Monique Lhuillier

New York Fashion Week - Delpozo Fall/Winter 2014 Collection Hair Design by Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoil® Artistic Director

DELPOZO Fall/Winter 2014
As promised, I'll be sharing not just my person NYFW backstage AND runway show pictures and recaps, but those shared by the hair and makeup brands as well. So glad that my pals at Moroccanoil  sent this amazing get the look, for me to share with all of you. Here's how you can get the same NYFW hair looks from from DELPOZO and MONIQUE LHUILLIER at home:

Overall Inspiration: Drawing on the geometric, post-cubist art of Duilio BernabĂ© and the futuristic 1960’s novel "Logans Run" Moroccanoil’s Artistic Director, Antonio Corral Calero, created elegant, futuristic rolled updos. The strong and dramatic asymmetrical style highlighted the pure, rounded geometrical form.
Moroccanoil Treatment Light
PREP:

  • Start by applying Moroccanoil Treatment (Treatment Light for light or fine hair) to condition and smooth hair.
Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray
STYLE:
  • Next, tie a ponytail at the nape on the right with ½ the hair. Make another part mid-head and toward the ear on the left, creating two ponytails with one on top of the other.

  • Bring top pony (on left) down and tie mid-tail to the lower pony.
  • Pull the original pony (on right) horizontally over to the one on the left and tie mid-tail creating one, unified ponytail.
  • Divide the unified ponytail into two parts. Twist and loop the first part of the pony in and around below the top left pony, creating a rounded, vertical tube-like effect, and pin. Twist and loop the remaining part of the pony around the section mid-nape and pin.

Fall/Winter 2014 Collection,
Hair Design by Bob Recine for Moroccanoil
Monique Lhuillier Fall/Winter 2014
Overall Inspiration: To complement Monique Lhuillier’s graphic architectural, old world French Parisian couture and dark romantic influences, Master Stylist Bob Recine for Moroccanoil created soft, vertical rolled chignons that were sophisticated yet casual. His innovative take on the chignon created “a loose, gamine-like contrast to the elegant, well-done clothes” and each was designed “to follow the natural geometry of each model’s jawline” for a hairdo of confidence.
Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse
PREP:

Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray
STYLE:
  • To free the hair, rough dry it from above in every direction [as if you were sitting in a convertible with wind coming from every side].
  • Then part hair down the center from crown to nape and pull back to create two ponytails.
  • Loosely twist and roll each one upward, tucking in the ends and securing each roll with a bobby pin.
