FASHION FRIDAY: CLOVER CANYON F/W 2014:

HAIR: CUTLER/REDKEN SALON, MAKE-UP: DEANNA MELLUSO FOR KEVYN AUCOIN, NAILS: MORGAN TAYLOR

NYFW this past February was epic for me, not to mention extremely hectic as I ran around covering 42 shows all over New York. Covering tons of backstage beauty for dozens of brands, talking to hair stylists, make-up and artists, designers and photographers - I never got tired; its a passion that keeps me going on pure euphoric bliss. While I did mini-posts here and there and flooded my social media with pictures, there are shows which I covered that deserve their own spotlight. Let's take a look at Clover Canyon Fall/Winter 2014, with Cutler/Redken Salon on hair, Deanna Mellus for Kevyn Aucoin leading make-up and Gina Edwards for Morgan Taylor on nails.

HAIR: Cutler/REDKEN Salon

Lead Hair Stylist: Linh Nguyen Cutler/REDKEN - Inspiration: "Irish lassies and everything beautiful about that country: the greenery, the castles... you'll notice that the motif on the front of some of the clothing is actually a cameo of the designer's mother-in-law's grandmother. We created a beautiful, soft tucked under braid that is often reflected in the style of the Celtic countryside girl." 

REDKEN Products Used: 

• Redken Powder Grip 03 Mattifying Hair Powder
• Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray 

Step-by-Step:

1. Spray REDKEN Powder Grip 03 throughout hair to mattify and add texture and grip. 
2. Using a 3/4 inch curling iron, curl the entire head by sections, working from the top of the head down. Before curling each section, spray hair with REDKEN Fashion Work 12. After, secure the curl with pins to set. 
3. Blow dry hair with cool setting to expedite process.
4. Unpin curls and loosely brush out hair with a flat boar bristle brush.
5. Add a striking center or side part. 
6. Tease hair at the crown of the head to offer a bit of height. 
7. Starting at the back crown, in line with ears, French braid hair down to tip and secure with an elastic. 
8. Gently pull out the hair to fatten the braid. 
9. Roll up the braid and tuck underneath. Secure with bobby pins, making sure they are inserted sideways - not up and down or the braid will fall out. 
10. Set with REDKEN Fashion Work 12.

Clover Canyon FW14 was without a doubt stunning and the models were all a pleasure to work with, posing for me despite all the photographers pushing to get their shot. I think I did pretty good, wouldn't you agree? To close, lets see the final look:
