KEEP CALM: NY Fashion Week FW2014 has ARRIVED!

NYFW FW2014 Tadashi Shoji
Makeup: M.A.C, Hair: Cutler Salon, Nails: Butter London

NY Fashion Week has FINALLY arrived! I was out since 10:00am, running around the city from show-to-show, catching all the backstage bliss my little heart (and tired feet) allowed. This Curl~Gurl will take you on a crazy ride all week - firing on all cylinders. So buckle your seat belts and hold on tight for the BACKSTAGE BLISS, FIRST LOOKS, HAIR/NAILS/MAKEUP of NYFW! *ALL PICTURES WERE TAKEN BY ME, EVELYN LUGO - Copyright!*

TADASHI SHOJI FALL 2014
Make-up led by Lisa Houghton for M.A.C - Inspiration: Dark Moroccan sky and and enchanting medieval Moorish palace with its luxuriant textiles and palatial escapes. An elegant balance between antiquity and modernity. It's about mystery, romance and decadence reminiscent of an enchanting Moorish night." ~Lisa Houghton

Skin: Glowing like when you're on holiday in a hot climate, looks healthy and radiant. Artists used M.A.C Face and Body (very light sheer dewy foundation) to illuminate and enhance the skin. It gives incredible highlights.

Eyebrows: Defined to frame eyes, eye shadow is brushed through the brow rather than using a feather technique. It creates a much softer effect and looks more natural.

Eyes: Soft and neutral, a wash of eye shadow cream was added for definition, NO MASCARA.

Lips: Decadent, deep matte red was used, pressed with finger rather than using a lip brush and then blotted with a tissue, layer by layer. Important that lips are NOT perfectly painted, to give an impression of a wine lip stain than lipstick. Lisa Houghton said that she loves dewy skin offset with a matte lip - quite medieval and painterly!"

HAIR - Ethereal hair was the look at Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 Show with Rodney Cutler for ULTA Beauty backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on February 6, 2014. Rodney Cutler, Redken Expert / Celebrity Runway Stylist for THE SALON at ULTA Beauty alongside ULTA Beauty stylist Jen McGann, created a whimsical beauty look with a touch of structure to complement the designer’s Fall 2014 collection. Tadashi Shoji presented a Moroccan inspired collection that aligned with Cutler’s vision for an effortlessly magical runway hair look.
